Perfect polisher for the experienced user
I bought this after using DA polishers for a couple of years to learn good techniques for polishing cars. Having sussed out good polish/pad combinations for various polishing problems I decided it was time to buy a tool that can do the job a lot quicker, but has the potential to do damage quicker too. I looked at a range of options and based on online reviews and on price concluded that the DWP849 would be a good solution. I tried the Dewalt out on an Audi fender that I had kicking around the shop and was immediately impressed by the smooth start and overall feel of the machine. This polisher is well made, well balanced and very easy to use, and as expected, did it's work far faster than a DA polisher. This is a great tool
I was hesitant to spend the money on this tool as I only had a rv to wash and wax. that turned into removing the decals which left the ghosting of the decal all over the trailer. It was hard to say what was uglier the old crusty decals or the super white ghosting all over the trailer. After watching some You tube videos I purchased this tool and the Meguires fiberglass restoration kit. I could not b happier. This tool and a 3M wool compounding pad have made my rv look just like new with out all the old peeling decals. Makes my stone polishing so much easier
Aloha, the primary usage is to polish granite and marble. Works to much better than my 18 year old grinder/polisher. The variable speed and trigger makes polishing easier, with less stress on your hands and forearm. Bought this Dewalt to replace my cheap Harbor Freight rotary buffer. I'm buying quality tools from now on, no more Harbor Freight junk. This Dewalt tool is very nice. I’ve bought craftsman,WEN and even tried a Harbor Freight polisher and nothing compares to this Dewalt polisher. Set the speed and it doesn’t slow down, it has the right weight to it.
