If I had realized
Ok so I'm very happy with this weadeater. However if I had known how much oil it uses would have stuck with a 2 cycle. You definitely need to make a habit of checking the oil every time you fill the gas. Not saying it uses that much seems to be about every 2-3 thanks. Other than that plenty of power have had no issues starting it. Good product.

Solid little engine/trimmer

It looks in good condition & starts on 2 pull. It bogs just a little when running full throttle. The oil is black & needs changed. This is replacing a 2 cycle Ryobi of 12 years. Ryobi 4 cycle is a definite step up over the 2 cycle. Power, fueling, easy starts & smooth running make the Ryobi RY4CSS 4 cycle trimmer a SOLID choice for me.

Bought this Weed eater on May 5th 2024, never used it until last week and it ran good for an hour, then started cutting out and quit. It has continued

Tried to use it today and it ran 3 minutes and quit. I pulled the air filter cover off and there wasn’t even an air filter in it. The end of return date looks like it was yesterday 6-9-24 of course it’s the day after it runs out that it completely dies. Would like to return for a full refund.

4 is better than 2
I really like this ryobi 4 stroke trimmer. It is easy to start and idles smoothly. I dont care for the trimmer spool so I put on my Oregon spool which is much easier to respell the line. The trimmer is well built and no more mixing gas and oil. It replaces my ryobi 2 cycle which was a good trimmer all also. Little bit of weight difference but not bad. Its easy to check the oil level and the choke set up is much easier to use also. All in all a great trimmer in my opinion.

My previous Ryobi engine gave out after about 10 years. The new 4 cycle is a great replacement. No more mixing gas and oil. Lots of power too. Love it.

Mostly good condition except there was a bit of difficulty getting the head to attach as the mounting tube was a bit bent. After a little bit of work with a pair of pliers I was able to get it together and it runs well and is an excellent tool for the money.
