WD Still Great Drives
I have a VOD (Video On-Demand) network at home and like to stream my videos to multiple desktops, laptops, and smartTV's. I was running out of space, so I purchased four (4) of these puppies. All four (4) worked out of the box without any errors or issues. The drive spins nice and quietly, but it does tend to get hot in a NAS. I have all four (4) of these installed in a WD My Cloud EX4 in a RAID 5 configuration. The array hasn't failed on me ever and I have never had to rebuild it because of problems. I'm using these RED drives in my NAS in a RAID1 array (upgrade from 3TB WD RED drives). Online rebuild was done in ~16 hours each drive. For a NAS, 5400RPM is more than enough, since WIFI and RAID controller are the bottleneck. These drives have performed top notch so far. Reliability of course is odd to comment on after two weeks.
