well, i can say that Driver: parelel lines is the tops so far, in all the Driver named games, it does blow driver 1 2 and 3 right out of the water! and i thought driver 3 was good! you can do JUST ABOUT anything in Driver: parelel lines, exept the thought of getting laid and selling drugs and stuff like that, that i've heard you can do in grand theft auto, but who wants to sell drugs anyway!? DUM. to keep a long story short, in driver: parelel lines, you can do every thing you could in driver 3 plus more, like, more cars to choose from, a bigger city, it seems, to drive in, more stuff to discover, customisable cars and trucks and is alot more lively than driver 3, but i do see a flaw or 2 in Driver: parelel lines, hopefully they'll come out with a driver 5 and correct these things, keep everything you can do in driver: parelel lines but make the game more realistic, like you see in the short movie clips in the game during missions, that realism would be the bomb! and for the helicopter that fly's around, they need to make that flyable, and with the simi's, they need to have attatchable and de-tachable trailers like it does in driver 3, and last, what can you do with some of those girls on there? nothing? make it to were the wheel man can get laid! sorry, had to include it. i mean, whats a man without a woman? if they fix these things, with no doubt, Driver will be. atlast, the King of all Driver and or Driving games. i've even thought of the name the could give the new driver 5, it's called, Driver 5: The wheel man Returns yes, Driver: parelel lines, as it sets, is awsome, but if they made another, AND FOR GOD SAKES GET IT RIGHT THIS TIME! Driver 5, would be the big daddy, the bomb, the king of all kings! and oh ya, when they put a blower through the hood on a hoped up car, i'd like to see the engine belt move and the throttle plates open up. and for the car's sound, make the muscle cars sound like there from hell and nothing will ever match them, muscle wise, make them sound MEAN! like when you go by a cop on driver, you literaly blow the cops doors off! this concludes my thoughts of Driver: parelel lines G'day to yeRead full review
The Driver series has always been one of my favorites. Stealing musclecars, sports cars, luxury cars, SUV's and anything else on two or more wheels. What could be better? Being able to race them, jump them or crash them into almost anything in the city and walk away from the wreckage only to do it all over again. Not to mention the fact that during all of this you are trying to complete a mission and evade cops around every corner. Of course this is only a good idea if you are talking about a video game. If that sounds like a good way to spend an afternoon then this is the game to play. The driving physics are good, but tend to be more arcade-like when compared to real-life racing simulations. The open environments and somewhat non-linear gameplay allow you to choose missions at your discretion. The controls for the firearms takes a little while to get used to, but soon become second nature. There is a good amount of diversity to the missions and to the cars so the overall gameplay doesn't seem too repetitive. One aspect I enjoy that is new to the series is being able to upgrade and customize your car's paint job, increasing performance and driveability. Eventhough I have not yet played through the entire game I'm sure there will be more suprises and new gameplay elements as the story unfolds. Most gamers with any interest to try being a virtual "wheelman" will not be disappointed in this game.Read full review
I bought Driver:Parallel Lines (Playstation Two) almost three weeks ago. The graphics are much better than Driver three. You have much more options with purchasing cars, changing paint and detailing of cars. In addition the background music is great !!! It has theme music for driving fast cars, music for getting chased all by top artists. The only downside is the profanity. I felt it was totally unnecessary , and took away from the game. Therefore it is not suitable for pre-teens and teenagers. Only mature audiences 18 and older.Thank you .
The game is just like the other Driver games only it is set strictly in New York. It is very fun and challenging at the same time. The depth of characters and vehicles make the game extremely rewarding. The only gripes I have about the game is that you cannot open endely modify your vehicle the way you want and once you have beat the game, there is nothing left to do. Overall the game is great and it is a must have among true driving/action enthusiast.
I rented this twice and I love it because it gives you a felling that you are in the 1970's because the music and the cars and the way people look. it seems authentic and the gameplay has a good flow of deception and action where you get into a storyline that is based in 2 different time zones. It doen't really show a realistic driving sense, but its good enough that you can replay yourself in slo-mo. Its overall a great game with enough missions to keep you going until you win. I like the little tank at the end when u win. if ur a good driver and need the challenge. this is 4 u.
