This bowl should have come with my mixer. Instead, I had to pay $50 extra to receive it. I hate the metal bowl but the glass bowl made all the difference. However, I hope I have a chance to rate the mixer because I am not happy with it at all. Back to the bowl. The major issue I have with it is that the raised area in the center bottom should be taken out. Dry ingredients collect there and after I think all my ingredients are mixed well, I empty the bowl only to find that I have to go back and mix in what was left around the raised bottom area. Also, the bowl is not large enough around the top to add ingredients without getting it all over the surrounding area. There is little room to add ingredients. The plastic piece that covers the top of the bowl is useless! It is cheaply made, warped, and will not set on top of the bowl without me holding it on with one hand. Because it does not fit, flour and other ingredients fly out the sides and it takes me as long to clean up afterwards as it does to mix all the ingredients. So disappointed in this part. I received this mixer last year for Christmas and really didn't get to use it until this year for Christmas cookies. I am sure it is out of warranty now. If I had a choice, I would return it and buy another brand. Also paid $20 extra for padded blade. It does no better than the metal one, as far as getting to the sides of the bowl. Read full review

Haven't actually hooked it up to the mixer and used it yet, but so far we are happy. It came packaged very well, plenty of padding to keep it safe. Lid fits great, quality of glass is great, measuring lines are easily readable, and it was a lot cheaper here for a brand new one than Amazon or anywhere else I looked.

I love this bowl. I bought it so Iβd have a second bowl in case a recipe needs two (or Iβm doing marathon baking). Itβs bigger than I expected, which is a bonus, b/c then my ingredients are less likely to fly out. π It comes with a lid, which is really handy in case the dough needs to be refrigerated.

So much better than the metal bowl that came with the mixer. The glass bowl allows the user to see where food has been missed by the blade. Also, and this is big, IT HAS A SPOUT! It is so much easier to pour from the glass bowl. There is no dripping onto a surface. GREAT PURCHASE!

Funny thing, Iβm not even using this for baking or even with a mixer! I just love the size of my glass bowl for its ease of use and the ability to make larger batchesπππππππππ

The glass bowl seems to work better than the poor design of the regular metal bowl. Too much material gets stuck in the bottom of the metal bowl, and is not incorporated into the mixture

My wife likes the glass for pouring and able to see if all is mixed. Problem is the glass is NOT resilient like a Pyrex glass dishes. You just tap the mixer or sink it will break. I went to Kitchen aid website and read a long list of owners that have broke the glass bowl....I already ordered a back-up glass bowl. Just in case. Note: I sent a suggestion to Kitchen aid to engineer the bowl with better and SAFER glass. Even if we pay more.
