When I saw broken Saints I thought It would be just another anime with a comicbook over tone but its much more than that.To sum up what it is I'd say it's kind of a comic book for lazy people/anime lovers looking for something fresh, new, out of the mundaneness(is that a word?) of "normal" shows. If you're looking for a good story look no further. If you want nice animation however this is not for you. Broken saints is not really animation...I'd describe it slightly moving comic book slides. The artwork is excellent, the story untainted,so the 12 or so hours of the series went by with me wanting more.
4 people from different corners of the world realize they hold the fate of the world in their hands...and they do it in a very stylized and moody way too. One of the things I love about this series is that it's like a living graphic novel...great music, great art, but sparse animation. If you're expecting something that has the animation of say 'The Lion King' you might be dissappointed. If you look past that, you'll find a very dark and moody story...one that I feel is epic and pretty interesting. When I was watching it I felt like I was looking into some secret world, something existing just below the surface of the usual world we see everyday... Cool. :D
This is an amazing series that I don't think has received the acknowledgement it deserves. This was an absolute steal of a deal.

Broken Saints is a little miscategorized on some sites as Anime. It is not. It began as a Flash-animated graphic novel and it remains one. If you are a Manga fan or a comic book fan, this is definitely something unique and original you should check it out. If you are looking for good anime and expecting something along the lines of the action in "Ghost in the Shell," you will be disapointed.
one of the best things to come out of north america in a very long time. spiritual, emotional, enlightening, beautiful and poetic dialogue. not alot of action and is not fast paced. but these are not bad things. there is soo much to appreciate from these episodes, and not recommended for zombies.
If you think the focus of evil in the world is capitalism, consumerism, western culture in general and the USA in particular then you will love the message. The art work is just acceptable, nothing remarkable or note worthy; it is a comic book on a DVD format that just drones on and on and convicts the modern world and the people in it for their selfishness!
This is the best series you will ever see. Its a high for those who like philosophy. This series really gets you thinking about stuff. You will never be the same once u see it. If u want to know what it is about go to newgrounds.com and look for it. The DVD experience is wayyyyy much better.
If you are looking for an anime style like some of the shows on Adult swim, or anime network. , This is not that , This is a comic book brought to like 3-d, 2-d animation. The story line is deep and a little dark. Please Rent this first I have seen it at blockbuster, Rent before you buy. -B
Unlike anything you've ever seen before. Deep, rich, and poetic story keeps you locked in until the very end. It's an instant cult classic that everyone should experience.
I was a little disappointed with the anime series broken saints. It was ok but not what i was excepting. It was mostly made of storyline boards,at times it got lost in what they were trying to tell you.Only the price is good, sorry but would not recommend it.
