Pros: It plugs in and works without installing the software on Windows XP. It works with 802.11b and 802.11g devices perfectly. It has 4 Ethernet ports on the back and works with wireless network adapters. It works with PCI and USB network adapters. You can still run the user friendly software setup wizard and configure your router for your own special settings. Also, you can just go to the router in a browser by typing in 192.168.0.1 and configure it there without installing the software. It works great in my concrete block home up to 2 rooms away from the router room. It is well worth the money I paid for it and I am happy with it. Cons: It does not work 3 or more rooms away from the router room. It does not work on Wireless N network devices but it was not designed to do so.
The best thing I like about this router is that its wireless is 108mbps. If your computer is double G then you have faster wireless than wire! It connects quickly and pretty much problem free. I bought my first one by chance and discovered the fast wireless, and what's weird is it did actually stop working once. I went out and bought a Linksys...which is only half the speed, but then one day I decided to hook the D-Link back up using a new cord between the modem and it and it worked and still working. I did buy another one off Ebay just to have one on hand should it ever go. Even if I were to have to replace my existing one I decided I would do so with the same thing, hence my getting a backup router. My laptop has double G network so it runs at 108, better than 54. The price is good, and another reason I bought a back up is because I was afraid when and if I needed a new one I wouldn't be able to find one. I'm not such a computer geek that I stay with the latest technology, I am happy with what I have. Good unit, and I received it quite quickly.Read full review
This router fits my needs very well. It was easy to set up without having any previous experience with wireless networks and not having instructions. The ethernet ports allow me to connect four workstations @100Mbs in addition to the wireless B and G compatible network. It has plenty of range for my needs and provides a good signal throughout the house. I think it is a good value for the price.
I bought a refurbished D-Link WBR-2310 and have used it to extendend my wireless network. I bought to replace a D-Link 11mb wireles. Right out of the box I was impressed with the small size of the unit about 1/2 the size of my older unit. The web based set up was a snap to get this router into the Access Point mode that I needed and D-Link's website is a great resource for user manuals and sofware plus help for those needing extra.
This is the second one I've bought one for my parents and one for my neighbors. My parents have had theres now for about a month and have had no problems at all. Product is compact in size and very very simple to hook up and get running. It has all the features of the expensive routers but for a fraction of the price....I highly recomend to anyone!!
