Cars is one of the best animated movies that has been produced in the past several years!! It is a clean, wholesome movie that is acceptable for people of any age to enjoy. The storyline is wonderful and teaches two important lessons. For those of you who haven’t had the pleasure of seeing this movie here is a short synopsis: Hotshot rookie race car Lightning McQueen (Owen Wilson) is living life in the fast lane until he hits a detour on his way to the most important race of his life. Stranded in Radiator Springs, a forgotten town on old Route 66, he meets Sally (Bonnie Hunt), Mater (Larry the Cable Guy), Doc Hudson (Paul Newman) and a variety of quirky characters who help him discover that there’s more to life than trophies and fame. Here are the lessons I think the storyline teaches: Lesson #1 is that life is way too fast paced. Because people are always in such a hurry, small towns vanish or get lost in the shuffle as, in the name of progress, Interstates and Highways ware paved to help save time in getting from one place to another. Here is a question to ponder: Is it really necessary to take the fastest route so you can go 70 mph to get to where you are going? If you go too fast you just might miss something interesting or wonderful. Why not slow down and enjoy the scenery? You only get one chance to live so why not take life slow and easy and enjoy the view! :o) Lesson #2 shows us not to be so self-centered and selfish. When you stop thinking about yourself and help someone else you get a sense of accomplishment that makes you feel good. Treat others the way you would like them to treat you. It’s really not so hard to do. Little things mean a lot to people. Next time you are heading into a store take time to open the door for someone else and let them enter the building first. Or if you are waiting in line at a stoplight and see someone needing to turn from a side street, let them out in front of you. They will be grateful and you will feel good that you did it. Anything you can think of to show kindness to someone else will make their day go better and will make you feel wonderful! :o) In all I give this movie a two-thumbs up, a rating of a perfect 10 and I highly recommend it to everyone!!Read full review
I love the story of the Director's family trips and/or inspirations for the entire Movie. There was a real "Hudson Hornet" car that used to race in the 1950's and there was even a real "Mater", he talked and sounded just like the character. You have to watch the special/bonus features on the DVD to understand what I am talking about. You forget that you are watching a Movie about talking cars, because the characters really come to life. I Highly Recommend This Movie!
This is the greatest children's movie ever. I purchased this movie for my two years old boy. He just loved it! I was pleased to watch him watching the movie over and over again. It's just simply perfect for any children, no matter their gender! It's cute, clean, fun. Even my brother (who is 30 years old) asked me to borrow the movie so he could watch it. After he saw it he called and told me: "Now I understand why Joshua watches it so much! It's cool and cute!" From my point of view is one of the best movies Disney has created so far. Pixar animation also played a good role to make this movie so perfect and clean. Any person can enjoy it since its images are beautiful and catchy...the soundtracks are also great, I just love them. I just wanted to let you know it's a great inspirational story for people of all ages. The lessons behind the story: Stop living your live in the fast lane and take your time to just take a walk, maybe you are missing something in your life that would only be seen if you just hit a detour. You will find yourself amazed as Lightning Mcqueen (Owen Wilson) (the rookie race car) did. Radiator Springs, a forgotten town, is just a metaphor of a more relaxed and pleasant place, where you can live in a slow motion and live a little more. When you find a place where you can relax and enjoy live you have time to make friends and enjoy them. If you always live in the fast lane you will never find the time to make good friends. Lightning Mcqueen discovers there's more to life than fame and empty trophies. People should be aware of this truth; we should slow down a bit and enjoy a detour as much as possible. There is no need to go 60-70 mph if we can get to same place at a lower speed while enjoying life. If we live our lives too fast we might end up missing the greatness of living: beauty of nature and people that just get passed by our daily fast paced live. Lightning Mcqueen is a selfish car, who wants to be the next piston cup winner at all cost. By hitting the detour trying to find Mack (his truck) he discovers Radiator Springs and there starts his new challenge. He needs to learn the lesson and people from that town becomes the instruments to help him change. From self-centered and selfish he transforms slowly in a helpful and friendly car that is willing to give whatever is necessary to fulfill everybody's dream. He changes the town and makes Sally's dream come true: She wanted to be able to enjoy the town the way it was in its hay days. He receives much more from them since they became his true companion at the end of the story. I won't say anything else since its well worth to watch it and enjoy it! Congratulations to Disney and Pixar, great job, guys! I really hope this movie teaches most people to take a slow walk and stop racing, there's so much more in life than going in a fast lane. Two-thumbs up for this movie! From 1 to 10 I give a 20...I highly recommend it to everyone!!Read full review

This is my 2nd copy of a Wonderful movie jam-packed with extras. I cannot begin to explain all of the fabulous characters, the plot, and naturally the fortunate actors and actresses that had the opportunity to participate. Being in Daytona and with the races soon to start I'll just have to watch it again and again with friends and relatives. Just take my word for it and I am not profitting by this, it is just too sweet to spoil. The second copy that I've purchased is a gift for Mom--we used to travel Rte. 66 in the 50s--John Lasseter created a fine movie with the help of many others. The original storyboards were saved to disk--then there's all of the other extras from Pixar. The animation is right up to and above speed--like Lighten' says --then there's good old Mater--Luigi--Sally--Doc--Mr. The King (R.Petty) Darryl Waltrip helped and so many more--just get a copy you won't regret it.Read full review
