With prices of graphics cards slowly coming down it may not make much sense to purchase older technology based on how quickly the tech advances however the 4GB GTX-970 is an exception. It still performs quite well and even out-performs some of the newer cards out there like the GTX-1050Ti. It can run 4K monitors at medium settings but it's power hungry at 145 to 165 watts and it's a double slot card. for some older and/or compact systems this could be a problem. Although it can support up to 4 monitors it also only has one HDMI port, 3 display ports and one DVI. In Windows 10 this card is plug-and-play so drivers are still readily available, is very quiet and doesn't produce massive heat in your system. The board is very over-clockable and the benchmark scores are still quite impressive. If you're trying to game on a budget this card would not be a bad choice for a good solid place to start or upgrade to from an even older card.
