When three high school losers accidently become the living dead, what do they do with their newfound zombie powers? Do they become super heroes and fight against crime? Of course not! They're high school teenagers; they'll use their powers to get back at the bullies that picked them, win athletic sporting events, try to score with hottest girl in school, and... throw a killer party! Oh yeah, and they'll eat people too. While viewers familiar with American teen comedies like "American Pie" will feel right at home with this film, "Night Of The Living Dorks" is actually a horror comedy from Germany, as you can tell from the fact that they left the opening credits in German and there's a terrible English dub (but you can choose to watch it in German with optional English subtitles). This film is more comedy than horror though, as there are virually no scares at all. Those looking for some decent scares may want to look elsewhere. But the film delivers on the laughs, at least for me. And I'm not complaining about the sexy outfits Collien Fernandes wears or the nudity from Nadine Germann. While I am giving this film a good score (4 out of 5), those interested in "Night Of The Living Dorks" might want to rent it first. I found this film to be very hilarious, but I know that not everyone shares my sense of humor. But it's a safe bet that those who enjoyed movies like Peter Jackson's "Dead Alive" and Sam Raimi's "Evil Dead" films will probably like this movie. Anchor Bay is becoming one of my favorite movie companies, as they have released this film, the excellent "Cemetery Man," and the Masters Of Horror series. The film is not rated, but would probably be rated R for Violence, Gore, Adult Language, Drug Use, Sexual Situations, and Nudity. Special Features include: Widescreen Presentation (1.85:1) enhanced for 16x9 TVs Behind The Scenes Deleted & Extended Scences Fun Scenes Theatrical Trailer (both English and German versions) Languages: English, German Optional English Subtiles Final Word: Only fans of movies like "Dead Alive" and "Evil Dead 2" should go right ahead and buy this movie. Every one else should rent first before deciding to add this film to your collection.Read full review
