Graphics: 7/10 The graphics were okay. They weren't anything amazing, but that's probably because there was more time spent on the Playstation 3, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360 versions. I'm fine with that, seeing as a lot of people do have those next-gen consoles at their disposal. But a person like me who kept the PS2? I feel as if they gave us something common, expecting it to be okay. Even with the amount of time spent, it should have been better than what it was. The buildings aren't very detailed, and the pedestrians look average. There aren't that many character models for them. On top of that, when Spidey lifts them over his shoulder (They look like lifeless sacks), they just dangle there with their arms limp. Fortunately, Spider-Man looked rather detailed. If nothing else, the focus on him kept gamers from complaining more than they could have about the environment. Even in the black suit, the detail managed to be pretty good. Gameplay: 7/10 The gameplay was shockingly dull. To be honest, I felt as if they were making me PAY for the things that had already been provided in Spider-Man 2. The dual-swinging, the speed upgrades, the acrobatics? We had to play through this average game just to get those things back. And even then, they didn't seem to make this game that much better. His combos are lacking dynamic actions, and the game lags at points (which makes them look mechanical). Controls were simple enough to understand, and there didn't take much for a person to master the arsenal that Spider-Man had. His web-grabs and specials were okay, but nothing to jump out of your seat about. At least they had SOME form of wrapping the opponent up. But even then, there wasn't much that you were able to do. The black suit offered slightly more in terms of graphic appearance to strength, but the cosmetics just weren't enough to save it from looking like a quick job. Storyline: 7/10 I won't go into this too much. You've got the guy with super powers. You've got the girl who likes the guy with super powers, but they end up going on a roller coaster. Throw in some villains and innocent bystanders, and you've got this all wrapped up...plus a suit that amplifies his emotions. We've seen this before, so this was nothing to brag about either. At least they had their own unique style of portraying it, rather than simply keeping Spider-man struggle-free and being able to deal with it easily. Replay value: 7/10 Average replay value. They thought that they were doing us a big favor by throwing in the meteorite/spider emblem quests, but they're annoying and too tedious for some. The free-roam is okay, but gets repetitive and boring after a while. Nothing special after the storyline is finished either, so I wasn't exactly impressed with how they handled the closing of the story and the opening of the free-roam portion. You're still able to brush up on your swinging skills, so that's a plus. Other than that, I don't see much point. Overall: 7/10Read full review
People complained to much that it was way to much like the previous game. I disagree! There are new story lines & the city is different. My 7 year old loves the previous game and really love this one too!

Compared to other video games I wouldn't be able to say much b/c I don't really buy "new" games. My son is really into Spider-man and we decided to get the video game. It seemed a little on the expensive side in the stores so I decided to try ebay. I did end up saving about $5 which I guess every bit helps. But we have definitely gotten our $$$ worth. The game was brand new when we bought it. The only thing I don't like is the fact that the booklet doesn't really give you much insight into the game. It gives you the basic moves but not much else. I guess so you will go out and buy the playbook. Anyway, this game is really easy to learn how to play b/c it puts you through a tutorial of sorts to begin. And if my 4 1/2 year old can play I think anyone can! Good Luck!
I've been playing Spider-Man 3 on my PS2 for a few hours now, and I'm addicted!!! It is by far THE BEST game adaption of a movie yet! It's super easy to control, and you can freely roam all of Manhattan, including Central Park, and fast to travel around when you travel by web. The moves are pretty generic, but you can do some cool looking combos and dodges. The graphics are amazing. For the first time ever, you get to play as black spider-man. You get to fight enemies that weren't in the movie, including Lizard and Kravan. Overall its a great game that you shouldn't pass up!
I bought the Spider-Man 3 Playstation 2 game, for myself as a birthday gift. I really appreciated the lower price seeing that the game was new, a huge savings. The game was new, unopened, and had all the playstation quality I learned to appreciate and enjoy. The graphics were awesome and the action level on these games just get better and better. I really am glad that I had an opportunity to buy a new game at a discounted price through eBay. Happy Birthday to me!!!
