I found this assortment of base sizes and shapes useful for mounting wwii wargame figures. There are a lot of crew served weapons. I like to depict them in action. I research poses and equipment so I do it accurately. Generally I get unusual poses with usual equipment. The variety of shares and sizes allow for greater variability in game pieces. I particularly like the oval bases for german light machine gun teams firing from the standing position while using the loader to steady the gun.
