Works better on Linux than Windows
We used this to sanitize some older HDDs originally but it also works great as a microSD card writer for our BeagleBone projects. This was easier to set-up on Linux (virtually nothing to do but plug it in) than Windoze... no surprise there. Fitment of laptop IDE drives could be a little better but for the money it works great.
