It is well-built and can pop a large amount of popcorn in just minutes. You can use just a small amoint of unpopped popcorn, add butter and put it into your microvave oven. It takes about 5 or 6 minutes to pop a batch. Warning: you can easily overfill it it you put too much popcorn kernels in it for each batch. Instead I got a smooth bowl shape made of hard plastic, with a cleverly designed lid which vents. Used it multiple times in a low wattage microwave. Even re-popped some unpopped kernels!
