The pads are stitched strongly around the edges. The edges are not cut 100% straight, but I'm more concerned with performance. The top is smooth woven fabric so it has slight drag to it, in contrast to the slickness of a plastic topped pad. I like it because it prevents my hand from moving too quickly and jerking the mouse. Good grip on the bottom, doesn't slide around. Size is about 10" x 8".
