Very Well Put Together Quality CB Mic
The microphone is very well made with quality material. It fits the hand very nicely and has a good heft to it, not like the cheap light weight "plasticky feel" like other mics out there. It also has a rubber like lip/mouth guard surrounding the metal mic grill not just one half crescent shaped strip at the top like some mics. The mic, according to recordings I have done, sounds louder than most other noise cancelling microphones almost like a power mic. It does tend to sound just a bit bassy but not enough IMHO to be of much concern. Overall this is a very well made and AWESOME sounding mic and for around 20 bucks or so brand new, you can't beat it! BUY ONE! YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!!!!

I WAS a TURNER Road King fan, Now they are a faint memory, This RANGER SRA-198 is much better made and it is much more hefty and durable and has great ergonomic features and the best Audio compared to the OLD SCHOOL Road King. I drive a coal truck and with the strip job roads my mic hits off of everything from the windshield to the dash. the ranger mic holds up better than the road king 56 and the astattic, at least this is my opinion. im NOT saying it is any better but for me this is the case, If you are over the road you may have better luck with the RK 56 ore the Astattic but not me. Thanks for the great product at a good price. I will stay with the Ranger mic. Good sound easy key and all around durrable mic

Something is wrong
at 1st I thought it was the right choice, but now Im just not sure. I put it on a new Galaxy dx94hp peaked and tuned. I dont get feedback from the talkback when mic volume is turned up as before like I did with the stock Galaxy mic. But today, after having it only a couple of weeks, when I key up Im getting a scratchy static sound through my talkback speaker. It sounds aweful!! I havnt had the chance to troubleshoot because too busy at work. But I CAN say this much for it... it hangs from the pullstring perfect. It fits my hand perfect, its very very comfortable, and has a nice welcome weight to it. The trigger is just the right length and shape and just super to squeeze when keying up. It always hangs perfect and somehow is always in the perfect position when I reach up to grab it and pull it down. ALL n All....awesome!! But the static noise? I just dont think its my Galaxy, but wont know til I have a chance to troubleshoot and plug original mic back in to see if it still makes that "radio station tuning" sound like when you hear thunder through a radio thats plugged into the wall. I am wondering...Is it the retailer I purchased it from? Is it water damaged? and therefore discounted? factory defect in a soldered connection?? It may very well be something else... But I am sorry, I cannot recommend or rate positively as long as its acting up and giving me this horrible static noise when I key up. I cannot even understand what I am saying through my own talkback, in a Galaxy 10 meter radio that I have invested about $600 in total...

Great option.
With the classics like the 636L and rk56 being cheapened out, and no longer like they were, this mic is a great option. It is solid in construction, fits well in the hand, and has a nice somewhat bassy tone compared to the often tinny sounding 636L. It has a nice flexible cord. And the back even has a provision for a hook to attach so you can use a bungie cord to hold it if you choose. For under $25 this is the best cb microphone you can buy.

Just received it. I thought it was gonna be plastic with a chrome finish. It’s actual metal!! Looks amazing! Just hooked it up to my ranger ff69b4 and it sounds amazing! May order 2 more for my other 2 ff69b4’s. Perfect fit for that radio! A must have!!!!!

Easily the smoothest, best sounding noise canceling microphone on the market!, I run this mike on my Galaxy 99V as well as my Galaxy 44V. The mike performs fantastic on both radios. I get great reports talking local as well as DX. All my local contacts prefer the sound of this mike over the RK56 that I had been running. Ranger SRA-198 CB Microphone
Excellent quality. I had one of these on a different CB and the excellent voice clarity prompted me to look for another one for my spare radio, a Connex. I priced one of these at a dealer and the cost was about $60. I got this microphone from ebay for less than $25 with free shipping. I believe it to be original equipment and not a clone. A great buy!!

Sharp and It matches my chrome front on the mobile!
I recommend it, Over Priced as everything nowadays, great quality. Perfect stock microphone for the mobile that will not pickup your air conditioner or open window wind noise. But you gotta talk into it close and raise your voice. Great for yelling down the road during DX!
