This is HDD is a reliable workhorse. Works great on Lenovo W, T and P models. I maintain a small reserve of the ST500LM021 to replace the existing internal HDDs of my technical consultants in the field as their drives fail due regular wear and tear, usually around 5 years. As we slowly transition to SSDs, these HDDs have a second life as a second internal drive where upgrades are possible and make sense; For example, most of our older machines are already i5 and i7 CPU. Many of these have an open 2nd internal bay or an internal DVD player that is convertible to HDD if you buy a HDD tray for $30. So basically on the cheap you can expand a perfectly good machine from 500MB to 1TB. We couldn't do this at the time of original laptop purchase due to prices and maker markups at the time.
