Great speaker, but I can't say its worth it for everyone
Great sound that is clear across frequencies, from the highs to the bass. The buttons are easy to press, but not accidentally. I've only charged my speaker once in the week and a half I've had it, using it about an hour a day, and it still hasn't hit its lowest battery indication yet. Compared against the iHome speaker I'd been using prior to this one, the sound is incomparable in presence.
BUT I do have 2 caveats to these benefits: occassionally, the speaker will make static bursts when I connect via bluetooth to my laptop (no problem with other devices), but I've found if I turn it on and off it usually goes away; although the speaker is very good, $100 isn't nothing and there are many other speakers that give sound quality that is good enough for the average user to be content with. I have a $30 echo dot and, though it doesn't boom quite like the JBL, it isn't as though your ears are built to pick up the absence of sound. Yes, the echo dot may not be nearly as good a speaker as the JBL, but in many cases, it is good enough, and sometimes having both feels a bit redundant. Read full review
