It works very well, It's been outside this winter, with 3M tape, I didn't use screws on my vinyl siding. Still not budging. Keep in mind, that this is not like the Ring doorbell, when it senses movement, alerts your phone. This one sends you notification that there is a clip to view. So you see the motion after the fact. The mic is also one-way. While it's recording, you hear the sound. That's it. No issues with service or connection. I use it for the back yard/patio. My cat triggers it for example. I have patio furniture cover and when it's super windy and the cover is flapping around a bit, that triggers it too. So all in all I'm happy with it, for what I need it for.

Blink cameras fill a special need. Their advantage is no external power or network cables needed and a couple of years between AA battery replacements. They make a very good external security system to notify you immediately if there is motion in the camera's view. The big disadvantage is the very short 5 or 10 second video recorded when motion occurs. They are very unlike POE cameras and a dedicated network video recorder that can record 4K video as long as you wish.

Just a couple of issues for me. They can easily be taken off, they’re not secured to their adapters, it could end up being very costly to replace them. And secondly, unlike Ring, you can’t communicate through them. You can hear the activity that’s going on when it’s recording, But you cannot verbally respond to anyone that’s on your property, you can only hear them. Doesn’t record in the dark unless there is some sort of light from somewhere. It’s an excellent camera for the price. And it doesn’t require any wiring which is really nice, therefore you can hide them anywhere in your house where you think they won’t be seen.

It just doesn’t do everything you might want. The newer model XT-2 is supposed to do more, but was pulled from Amazon after so-called “mixed” reviews. The “mix” appears to be towards the low end of the spectrum. But this camera seems to be pretty good, within its capabilities. I bought 3, and recommend it, until the XT-2 gets the problems fixed.
