Missed some of the entries in a prior installation for the same year
I had prepared the taxes for 2022 with another TurboTax CD. It expired due to a bogus error by TurboTax who asked me to uninstall my version and load a new one. Which I did. I discovered that the new installation missed some of the deductions existing in the older version causing a higher tax amount than the original preparation. Utterly Worthless!
Used Turboxtax for years, much to my satisfaction. This year - 2022 - though it suffers from a software glitch that locks the user out from importing investment transactions directly from your brokerage account . This is a major problem. Getting through to Intuit support is a horrendous exercise in frustration; just getting past the AI answering system is almost futile. Finally, got hold of a representative who confessed this issue has been known for months. Still haven’t fixed it, but they’re working on it - all to no avail. Total waste of money. TurboTax works well but seems over priced.
The product works well And, like others I’ve come to depend on using it every year. I think it’s over priced for what it is. It seems like the changes in the program seem minimal so there is a little justification for such a high price. I may try a less expensive competitor next year. Average tax software...........It's not as user-friendly as H&R Block software, and it is hard to return to a page after skipping. If you are familiar with taxes, it's fairly easy to use. However, if you are just learning how to do your own taxes, you could really mess up your taxes. You don't have to dread tax preparation with TurboTax
I've been using TurboTax since 2003. Over the years the program has become easier to follow and "understand" even though our tax laws are not. Explanations and examples are provided where needed, but they could be better. The program takes you through the process step-by-step, and since it follows the law, I have no concerns.
