The Heroin Diaries is a fantastic book that is based on 1987, the year Nikki almost succumbed to his heroin addiction. And not only heroin ... cocaine, blow, marijuana, alcohol, etc. It was the year Motley Crue toured for the Girls, Girls, Girls tour and had Whitesnake and Guns N' Roses opening. The book clearly demonstrates how Nikki was suffering from his addiction, whether it was from a lack of sleep, not eating, no personal hygiene, etc. If you're a fan of Nikki Sixx and Motley Crue, then you will absolutely LOVE this book. I've read both of Nikki's books ... "The Heroin Diaries" and "This Is Gonna Hurt" and I give them both 5 STARS!!
I have yet to even receive this CD in the post but already know how great it is as a friend lent me a copy to dig on. It is even better if you have read Nikki's book that it accompanies. Honestly, this is one step away from being to Pop driven for me but being such a loyal and Die Hard Nikki Sixx fan it is easy to love. Everyone even considering it should own this CD ( and READ THE BOOK for God's sake!!!)
5 Stars + Excellent + Highly Recommended Awesome Reality of Life in the fast lane, drugs, hitting bottom, death, recovery and life. If you've never been there, this is where to learn first hand with NO bull. Nikki along with Sixx AM's straight forward, pull no punches, full emotional expression of what life is about.
This album is a work of art - a must have for every music lover! There is variety in the songs - no boring same-old same-old song after song. Deep lyrics, great music, pure genius.
Bought this CD because I read reviews that it's the best Sixx:A.M. cd out there...not exactly as expected, but there are a few great songs on it. Overall, B. Would buy again, the few songs I like are worth the price!
