Basically this DVD is simply a MUST-HAVE for any hard rock fan. The concert is well produced featuring each member of Led Zeppelin in the prime of their careers. Their musicianship is superb & is very much appreciated by the sold-out crowd. Zeppelin's music will take you to another place. Perhaps to another world if only for alittle while. Unlike today, this concert takes place when rock & roll was king. It is a moment in time to be cherished forever. Don't even hesitate to pick this up, it is a classic. This entire DVD shows Jimmy Page's incredible guitar playing, it really is unbelieveable to marvel at that man's talent. Led Zeppelin was so powerful & dominate back in the day as this movie demonstrates. The second (bonus) disc is filled with juicy & interesting extras. It rounds out this package nicely & completely. I know that I wouldn't do without this Deluxe Edition in my collection & neither should you. If you're a fan of long-haired, hard rock, classic rock & roll with untouchable grace & talent then buy this now. It should be in a time capsule for people to view centuries from now.Read full review
If you happen to be a Led Zeppelin fan, this film without a doubt, should be a part of your collection. I first saw The Song Remains the Same on MTV back in the 80’s. Soon after, I purchased this film on VHS and watched it repeatedly and particularly enjoyed the concert footage that it contains. The “fantasy sequences” are interesting but the live footage is what this film is about for me. The current DVD release provides a superior sound and picture to be sure then what has previously been available and the bonus segments /songs are a great addition to the standard film. The film is not without its warts. There are numerous sync issues between soundtrack and video however, it’s still Zeppelin and that says it all. My recommendation is to buy this along with How the West Was Won. Both DVD sets can be gotten for cheap now. A Highly recommended DVD.Read full review
Classic LED ZEPPELIN!! If you like Rock Music then "The Song Remains The Same". Jimmy Paige does things with his guitars you need to see again and again, John Paul Jones on bass and showing what bass is meant to be from as far back as music can be memorable, one of the best drum solos of all time is pounded out with visuals that will have you blown away as John Bonham exposes drums to pure explosive force, and Robert Plant in the performance that brought People to midnight movies for the entire era. The total entertainment value is rounded out by the band members fantasy's played out to the musical story line, and the most bizarre Gangster Fantasy of thier manager. The concert backdrop is Madison Square Gardens 1973, and the action behind the scenes is all too real!!!
Watching Jimmy Page play `since I've been loving you', the fans mesmerized, the short stories per band member, Robert Plant singing his ass off, THE WHOLE MOVIE!!, made me finally get my own copy! If you've never seen it and you love Led Zeppelin, GET IT! Thanks, George S.

Outstanding footage from the mighty gods of rock. I could sit here and write all day, but it would be a waste of time. If you know Led Zeppelin, you know it's going to be nothing short of great. Period. I think you owe it to yourself to purchase this DVD if you have a taste for rock music... especially if you can get it brand new for under $10 total like I did! With the price in mind, I think I'll grab a couple more for holiday presents. Enjoy.
