Painful scraping noises due to poor design
I don't understand the way they designed the motor bracket and the hardware that mounts the motor to it. I have literally never been able to install one of these in a way that it doesn't wobble and cause horrible grating noises, without running additional screws into the plastic parts to secure it. The screws as designed will attach the motor to the bracket enough that it won't come out, but won't hold it firmly in place, and it is highly prone to imbalance and rubbing on the shell while running, any time a chain is pulled and any time it runs at high speed. The ensuing sound of the motor body rubbing on the cover is like fingernails on a chalkboard. It is literally physically painful to hear. I have resorted to automatically adding 2-4ea 2" self-tapping screws to secure the motor to the bracket more fully, after having to tear down and rebuild multiple fans to stop this awful noise. I will do this workaround with the rest of the Hunters I have in stock, but I will not buy any more of them. They look good, but what the actual. Just no. And as far as I can tell, every Hunter fan is like this. All the ones I've ever installed are like this. I just don't get it.Verified purchase: YesCondition: Pre-owned
