Janome 634D serger
Great serger for the price; I purchased this serger because had a previous Janome serger for over 20 years that was still working well but it was difficult to get a good rolled hem. I really wanted to be able to make a quick change to a rolled hem because I wanted to do heirloom serging. With this serger all you have to do is rotate a couple of dials and flip a switch to adjust tension. It is a little loud but works great. It does not have self threading so if you have never had a serger before that can be intimidating. Quality Janome machine
It seems to be very rugged. The seller did a very poor job of packing and it still survived the transport. This is my first serger but it was not hard to thread. Not Easy-Threading
Other ads for this machine purport it to be self threading or similar for the lower loopers. Not so. Non-Janome sites confuse a technique using the old thread to guide the new thread through the looper guides. Knowable seamstresses think this is not a good practice.
