***MINIMAL SPOILERS*** The filmmakers took almost FIFTEEN YEARS to compile and edit this Masterpiece! Following the Pup Walrus from her first day of life, and a second story following two Polar Bear Cubs from their first days out of the Birthing Den, the movie shows the hardships that is a part of their daily living. Rare never-seen-before footage from underwater cinematography showing how the Walrus clans recognize and care for each other, and relatives treasure the newborns, and they care for life, and sometimes GIVE their lives to save the newborns. This movie is a collection of an artwork celebration recognizing life that exists in the harsh, savage Arctic.
Purchased this for my grandchildren and their family. It is a National Geographic production, so the photos are amazing to say the least. Excellent narration by Queen Latifa also. I liked this movie because not only was it a wonderful family film, it had a message about the effects of Global Warming done in a very understandable way. Left much open for family discussion of this most important topic.
WOW! That is all I can say about this won. It's not a documentary but is a blend of one with a narritive. The lovable creatures in Arctic Tale and there conquering obstacles brings a new perspective of global warming to children and adults. Do not miss an opportunity to see it. I thought it was going to be another animated animal film like Surfs Up, but I sure was wrong. A quality film indeed.
Movie has excellent photography but the commentary takes it a little to far with the Global Warming. Could have been excellent if they would have just stuck to the facts.
Excellent movie! Brings issues of Arctic animals and climate chnage to life in a way I can watch with my family! Very inspiring movie. Such a cute story too!
