Do you want PS3 trophies? 11 gold and a platinum to be exact? Well one playthrough on easy will net you 9 gold trophies for the campaign, do it on medium and get another gold, and if you play through once on hard without breaking the controller from the sometimes cheap and poor game mechanics... You earn another gold and the coveted platinum "Determinated". This game is pretty bad: the cover system is clunky, the shooting mechanics imprecise, and when walking slowly Connor shakes his butt back and forth like he's samba dancing! Speaking of Connor while Bloodgood, and Common reprise their roles from the film as Voice Overs but the muppet they have playing John Connor sounds more like a dawsons creek reject then anything like the Christian Bale gruff batman action hero voice one would expect. Not that the story or writing is enough to need a better performance... same old dull dialogue and story here. Moving from place to place and objective battling the repetitive cast of random skynet robots with some token motivational speech in between. The third person shooter stuff here is basic, Each weapon works well against different machines and each one has a weakness to exploit. Prioritizing targets, and careful use of cover and movent is about the only real skill needed here. But you're not here for a Socom smashing Uncharted killing 3rd person shooter of the century, you're here for an easy platinum and 11 golds, and this game will deliver that in a handful of hours and fade lovingly into the background memory of your PS3 trophy collection... Never to be spoken of or played again.Read full review
I loved the franchise ever since I watched the first Terminator movie about 5-ish years ago. I watched Terminator Salvation starring Christian Bale the day it was released on DVD and loved it. I got my PS3 for Christmas and decided to get the game on Ebay for a decent price. I knew the game wasn't known to be great and I didn't have high expectations but I loved the movie and the series so I tried it out. After playing the first level (Split-Screen Co-Op) a lost gem in video games these day was a great surprise, I knew that this game wasn't going to have good graphics, but the game play was at least a decent night with a few people switching up the two controllers (I didn't even bother with single playing). By the third level the glitches started on, one which was hilarious is I was froze in mid battle couldn't move, couldn't shoot, couldn't die. This was cool considering the machines put all interest in the frozen guy in the middle of the battlefield where as my buddy shot him dead and I was instantly revived and free to move again. The game was incredibly short, easy (even on hard mode), and the on-rail segments were horribly fusterating. Pros: - Franchise tie-in - Good Controls - Split Screen Campaign - Easy Platinum Trophy Cons: - GLITCHES - Short - Zero Replay Value - Horrendous Graphics - No Christian Bale - Ruined a good opportunityRead full review
This is a short and repetitive cover based shooter. The graphics are relatively good and the sound is decent as well. Like most games developed to launch with movies, this appears to have been rushed as the story ends abruptly and glitches do occur that lock up the PS3 requiring a reboot of the PS3. I enjoyed the game since I like the Terminator movies but I will not likely play it a second time since I have a large backlog of un-played games and limited time to play them. It's worth the price that it typically sells for used in 2019.

The game has a very poor graphics and its very slow, with out mentioning that is very short also, but the feeling of a fight with a machine is indescribable there are some parts of the game that are really cool and some others are the same thing just with a different scenario, I recommend the game if you want to expend 20 bucks and want to play like 4 hours (that's the full length of the game)but don't create high expectations for this game, if you switch to a harder level it can be a little more interesting, but right when you're getting on the game it ends.
Great storyline, but the gameplay is kind of weak. I'm new to modern games, but there seems to be alot of video scenes and very little actual gameplay. It's like you watch 5 minutes of movie, then fight a battle in one area, then watch more movie. I like adventure games where I actually control the path I take. The game has also frozen up on me twice in a week.
