Great fun to play! I was actually expecting it to resemble the Sim City games, but Imperium: Romanum has a mind of its own. This game is much more goal-oriented in that you have several scenarios to choose from. Many scenarios involve Barbarians living on the outskirts of town, so it becomes a race to build up your civilization before their waves roll over you. It can be a real disappointment when you're not watching the frontier and then Boom!...your village is sacked and destroyed. Sometimes your own disgruntled citizens start fires, which is something I absolutely hate because it sets-back your progress. Even so, the intricate detail of things in this game (like viewing statistics about your peasantry) makes the Player feel like they're managing something important and worthy of the time involved.Read full review
I bought it for my boyfriend. From what I heard, he liked it. It's you basic roman strategy game. I really don't know much more than that.
