You should only buy this game if you plan on playing it with at least one other friend. Playing against the computers is boring and takes forever, but with friends you can have a blast, especially with the "taunt" feature! One downside to this game in comparison to other Wii sport games is that you cannot create your own character, but must choose from one of 10 pre-made characters. Another is that the music and sound is terribly cheesy- but it is easy to turn off or down. It is also slightly confusing when you start playing, because you need to create a file for each person that will be playing. Once that's set up, though, you will be good to go! The best part of this game, as I mentioned, is the taunt feature. During the multiplayer games like mini golf, croquet, or horseshoes, you can play with the + button on your remote to make the remote of the player who is currently taking a turn make a variety of noises. Don't forget to turn up the volume on the remote, it just makes it that much more fun! The games themselves are fun, although the controls are hard to get used to, and are a bit unpredictable at times (eg when you go to swing in mini golf, an identical swing will sometimes hit the ball much harder or much softer than you intended.) In summary, only buy this game if you plan on playing with your friends.Read full review
This game pack has a variey of sports that are fun to try for a while. The graphics and sounds are ok but not equal to the Wii sports game that comes with the Wii console. Negatives are distracting title pop-ups which flash on and off at each change of players. Such as when starting to serve in vollyball. The camera angles and distance are not really that good which makes it hard to see where the ball is and when to hit it. The developers went too far with taunts like "You Missed", "Bullseye", "Missed", etc. that pop up each and every time you make a bad shot. Obviously the player knows when they missed. It would have been better to just leave in the pop-ups for "Spike", "Hole in one", etc. Overall an average game that's worth buying used.
I am not a huge fan of this game, but the game itself is still playable. Pros: Play games such as lawn darts, horseshoes, volleyball and more. A nice change of pace from Wii sports. Priced right at $19.99 Cons: Not too much to the game, just play it and that's about it. Game doesn't give you a real purpose to keep playing. Feels like most other wii sporting games. Only 7 total games, some of which the controls seem impossible! You can just go ahead and skip this game, you won't be missing much.
We bought this for our Grandaughter for Christmas. It does have real fun games on it. The Basketball takes some getting used to but the others are fairly easy. This is a little different as it has a tropical feel. Our Grandaughter enjoyed it as did we all.
I actually borrowed this game from a friend and was not impressed! He recommended it and I decided to try it. I figured if it was as great as the wii sports original game this would be as well. I was wrong. First, it was very hard to play. It takes a while to configure the players and start each game. The games itself run pretty slow and you have to wait a while for a turn. There is no training other than one screen showing you how to do everything. There should be conditioning training like the original wii sport game. Most of the views are very confusing and certainly don't help playing. Overall I would not recommend buying this game, but I will keep on the lookout for other sports games. The only thing I liked about this game is the island setting with the music.
