IF you would enjoy SEXISM being given a wide-open range to portray attractive younger women as "gold-diggers" deliberately pursuing rich husbands with one leg in the grave; manipulative of men for their assets; boundary-crossing flirtatious; lazy; job & homeless; boring & beautiful; & surrounded by "Fabio, gardeners," then perhaps this flik is just right for you. There's no interesting plot; Zeta-Jones portrays her arrogating character much like the poodle she rents--with teeth; Clooney is nothing more than a shyster divorce lawyer who exploits his clients & is stereotyped as a sexist. Perhaps you'll find all that "entertaining." Or the big name stars will attract you. This is a film for the undereducated who pay money to cooperate with such stereotypes. I bet the Coen brothers made it to exploit the average clueless US public. Maybe by putting the two attractive actors together in one flik they presumed it would be a $$$ block buster. Perhaps in money terms it has been; but, the Coen brothers lose their integrity on this film. Maybe it's one of those films influenced by John Grays' equally sexist "Men are from Mars; Women are from Venus," or other pop culture delusional gender forecasting. Fortunately, I didn't pay anything but my time for this junker~Read full review

Great movie, and great service.

I suppose during the era of film productions when this one was made, merely putting two big namers who had sex appeal on the silver screen was enough to sucker the US public into it. This movie lacks any memorable script. The acting just isn't acting. The story is too dull to be of interest to all but the most easily swayed by glamour on display.
