Philosophy of a knife is not a movie you watch for entertainment. Yet, you do appreciate the artistic value that the director accomplishes well. Any movie/documentary/reenactment that is as disgustingly accurate as what the Japanese UNIT 731 accomplished from the early 1930's to 1945 is rolled up in over 4 hours on this dvd. Alot of critics will say it is not horror. What they mean is, that it is not horror that scares you into a laugh or gore that makes you squirm a smirk. I agree, its not. But I feel it is the ultimate horror that is real, based on facts. The Japanese felt the Germans and Russians were advancing so far in chemical warfare, they were being left behind. I felt while watching, The Japanese were trying to play catch up on the expense of human lives. All the experiments the scientists used on russian or chinese prisoners that were kidnapped without a trace are portrayed in detail, without the lie of censorship. An erie thought provoking film that shows mankind's madness towards his fellow man is barley touching the surface.Read full review
