I had this and a couple of other brands of VCR through the years. This model lasted the longest. I needed another one, so I searched for this model number specifically.

The recording quality is very good, has more features than I expected. Very easy to set different recording dates and times. Does everything it should and more.

I bought the VCR to replace a Sylvania unit which was introducing noise into video recordings. My primary use for this VCR is recording, not playback. The Sony unit works beautifully for my purposes. I live in one of the few areas in the U. S. where there is still analog cable available. The new VCRs now being made do not have the capability to be connected to an analog cable connector and require a digital tuner box to program for recording. Therefore I am forced to buy an older VCR that has this capability.
It worked great for what I needed. Only complaint is that it didn't have a remote. Was remedied though with an old universal remote. Price probably should've been reduced a bit though without the remote since things like tracking isn't possible on the universal remote...

DIDN'T WORK. It was cheap ($30 including shipping) and I guess too cheap. Spent a long time working with it, but it wouldn't play a tape. Stopped after 1 or 2 secs. I got that it was old and used and had no remote to program with. All I wanted to do was play a tape.
