The unit came from a 2005 RL and worked right out of the box. The user names and one phone book entry were still on the unit and were easily erased.
The place I purchased it from did a great job of packaging it up and mailing it to me. 5 stars for their efforts and also great job on lowering the price to something reasonable! They sold me a working unit which performs like a new one.
No fault of the seller, my fear is that my unit went out some time ago, and this unit is from a year older car. I hope it lasts.
Overall as far as bluetooth devices go, this one is pretty crappy but I guess it was pretty much state of the art in 2006. Considering that I can't really complain.
What I can complain about is the OEM price of a replacement unit. Like $700 and I got my used one for $65 with free shipping. Acura should be ashamed for trying to ream us like that. We already paid a ton of money for the car and now they want to soak us again for a ill-designed replacement part. Shame on them.
Bottom line is this. If you have an Acura with built in bluetooth and your's is broken, my advice is to search for a used unit to replace your's with. Also, if you're a little more daring, I found a site that showed the failed component which is a $3 part. I'm going to see if I can replace the component on my broken unit and see if it works.
