I've used North respirators for years in the trades. Now I'm retired and needed a replacement. The respirators themselves don't really "wear out" if kept clean and have reasonable care. It is the elastic material in the head gear that fails. I've looked in the past for replacement/repair headgear, but didn't find any... I think they want to sell you a new one. Planned obsolescence. But, filters are easily replaced and readily available. My uses are welding and mowing. I have used them for fiberglass work too, but I don't do much of that. But with the proper filter, I couldn't smell any of the fumes.
