This soldering gun is very versatile outside my little 40 watt iron, the D550 can solder much heavier projects and has many different style tips.

Why Weller quit making a 325 Walt is unknown. A 325 watt soldering gun can repair a copper car radiator with ease, no other soldering gun is this powerful, that I know of. .

This soldering gun kit that is an older model is in brand new condition. I purchased it because the older model in which tips are attached using nuts is much better than the new model in which tips are attached using smaller screws.

Great dependable Soldering Gun. Arm it with a Good tip and will outperform any of the newer guns. Made with a Bakelite housing, it will not melt if used for prolonged periods. Too bad that Weller does not make these models anymore.

Has the power, like its predecessor the 8250 Weller, to get the job done Fast. They don't make 'em like that anymore!

I bought this to wire the grounds in my electrical boxes. It heats up fast and the light makes soldering easy....even for me. As soldering is the best was for a secure connection, I will be using it often. I have known the Weller name for years, and now I have a good one.

Heavy Duty soldering gun is very useful for soldering larger fittings. as in repairing old radios where often wires are solder directly to steel chassis. NOTE: In order to get full power, it is useful to loosen the nuts holding the tip, wiggle the tip a little, and retighten the holding nuts firmly. Because this soldering gun works as a transformer with just a single turn secondary, any slight resistance can reduce the heating current. I prefer the older versions with nuts holding the tip, versus the set screws used on the newer models, just seems a bit more durable.

This is my second Weller in my lifetime [I'm 72 years old]. I bought my first one when I was 16 or 17. I'm sure this one will last until the end of my life. Excellent quality!!
