    Watch some YouTubes first!

    Depending on your situation, installation by one person, especially when attaching the unit by the two screws that initially hold it to the aluminum frame, can be a quite a challenge. Also, there are no instructions whatsoever in the box. You should see several YouTube videos before attempting to install but be aware that every case seems to be different as our original fan was not like any of the ones seen on the videos. Once put it, is is everything I expected with the 3 exhaust and two input speeds and looks quite nice. I did cut off the bracket that held the old fan and connection box as some purchasers did to provide the most potential area for the air to move out or in. This bracket seems to be different depending on the model of the original fan installed on your RV. This was the solution for improvement without having to do the exterior part on the roof and at a very reasonable price.

    Heng's vortex 2 fan

    I had read all the reviews for this product before ordering so was aware of the shortcomings including being noisier and of lower quality than the Fantastic Fan as well as a lack of instructions. I did order this because I found in on sale for approx 30% of the price of the comparable Fantastic Fan. I have installed it in the bathroom so the fan will not be running as frequently as in another location. The unit is of decent quality albeit not up to the Fantastic Fan standard ( I also have one of those in my RV so can easily compare) but for the price, it was hard to complain. I had to move the gears for the winding handle twice to get the correct location ,including taking off the cover, before getting it in place and this did complicate matters somewhat--would have been nice to have instructions with pictures! It was, however, not difficult to do and it fits perfectly into the space of the previous small fan housing. The noise level is slightly higher than the Fantastic Fan but less than the replaced small fan and the air movement is hugely improved as well. Again not quite as good as the Fantastic Fan but more than acceptable especially for the price and for my fan location. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase with the only caveat being the lack of any instructions at all

    Replacement Vent Fan

    This Hengs fan makes a great replacement for the very small original equipment bath fan that comes with many RV's.. It is relatively simple to replace from inside the RV and offers multispeed in/out air flow modes as well as on/off. I do not feel it is quite as good as the Fantastic Fan products which I have had in other RV's but the value benefit is that it also does not require roof access and the complicated replacement of the entire existing vent. It's a simple way to greatly improve airflow in your RV.

    Noise fix blows better

    I glued a flat thin strip of metal to the screen to keep it from being sucked into the fan. Could use clothes hanger wire bent slightly outwards. Now it runs quietly and moves more air. Simple fix but factory should redesign. Install was easy though I had to use the alternate lift location. Directions could be better. Overall good quality.

    Good replacement fan

    Used this fan to replace tiny fan in RV bathroom. For that purpose it works great. Not sure if I would use in a living space as it can get a bit loud on higher settings. Install was easy, did not use instructions as I do not think they offer any help. Does not move as much air as higher priced fans but at 50-60% less cost it does the job just fine.

    overall very good but...

    Overall very good, nice fit in the original hole and an easy replacement for the POS original fan. The down side is the fan blade wobbles horribly because the center hole is not straight in the fan body! End result, it's noisy, making a vibrating noise at all speeds, pretty annoying. I even tried a second one, exact same poor fit and vibration! Otherwise very good.

    Heng's VORTEX II - It's A good value

    I upgraded from the VORTEX I to the VORTEX II in about 1 hour. It's an easy to do DIY project. The price I paid $80. is on target for the features and functions in the VORTEX II model. I did have to add extra wire length to the two leads from the unit to my power connections. Other than that, no issued.

    Works but borderline quality

    Took three deliveries to get one that worked. First two both had inoperable switches. Appeared to me to be factory defects, not shipping damage. Third one was OK and blows air. It is not quiet on higher speeds, but no really obnoxious either. As I have seen others report it will pull the screen up into the fan when blowing up/out which adds to noise and slows down fan. All in all not high tech, but it does work and moves more air than the original exhaust fan.

    Pro obviously is the price, second ease of installation. A bit of a buzz, a bit of fiddling, over all, yup buy another again. Fantastic & Maxx fans are great BUT come with a hefty price tag. Will have to see how it holds up in the long run.
