As per most Woodland Scenics items these are well made if a bit pricy what is not so good is the figure poses. I bought these hoping to use some in my engines but only one is proper for an engineer in the right-hand seat. Look to Kato for their engineer figures which need repainting but are better for mounting inside your equipment.

Put an engineer and fireman in the cab, put a conductor in the cupola of a caboose. The trick to not ruining the paint job is to secure the figures with Vallejo acrylic matte varnish. It takes longer to dry but there will be no trace of it when finished.
