This slicer is so much better than my old one. The one it replaced lasted 10 years and finally fell apart. It was the type with 1 adjustment in the center above the handle and the roller was plastic. The plastic roller broke off. The new one is all stainless including the roller. Its heavier and has 2 adjusters on the outer ends. It feels better built and works better. The slices of cheese stay a consistent thickness now. It appears this one will last as long if not longer because of the build quality.

The only cheese I have sliced is the soft cheese like velveeta. It cut thin slices well without sticking. I haven't cut any colby, swiss etc. yet. That is the real test for quality and strength of the wire. It is too early to tell for now. If it lasts a long time it is a great price. Only time will tell.

Bought this tool for my wife to use on 5+ year aged cheddar. It is possible to cut thin long slices where a knife just makes it crumble. Seems very stout, the wire has given no problems with the cheese. Somewhat easy to adjust. Cleaned up easy.

This is truly an adjustable cheese slicer. When you find the thickness you want, just tighten the nut on both sides of the wire, and slice away. The wire does not break easily, and the only reason I had to buy a new slicer was because I lost my old one after using it frequently for over a year.

Very nice cheese slicer. Have only used it a few times and it works good. Feels heavy duty and I like the big roller. Makes it smooth to use. It is pretty easy adjustable to control slice thickness. An issue could be cleaning as it has a few small holes around the string attachment. But hot water and a good brush can fix that.
