I'm homebound & Christmas 2015, a close friend got me started on coloring adult, this order was @a smaller sized of #48 Prismacolor Set of the colored pencils. I purchased these to be able to travel back & forth to doctor's appointments. They are a lot more expensive BUT IN THE LONG RUN, THEY'RE WORTH EVERY PENNY B/C THUS FAR I'VE NOT HAD EVEN ONE OF THESE TO HAVE THE LEAD TO BREAK & SHARPENING IS A BREEZE! I've ACTUALLY SAVED $$ in the LONG RUN! Plus, I've also found that if I keep a close check on them on different websites, I save money by either bidding & winning at a great price! I've tried other brands too & they're ok, but for someone like me who's homebound & wheelchair bound & having to rely on others to go anywhere(even dr appts.), I feel I deserve to @least buy these to color with. So, for now, I still couldn't be HAPPIER! U CANNOT GO WRONG WITH THIS BRAND, NO MATTER THE SIZE OF SET U PURCHASE, even if u find a gently used set as I have to restock some colossal I've already used up! Plus, in this order I also received a Prismacolor pencil sharpener w/the order & I'm VERY HAPPY WITH IT TOO & FEEL IT'S ABSOLUTELY PERFECT W/ALL THE PRISMACOLOR PENCILS TOO! ABSOLUTELY ECSTATIC OVER ALL OF THE PRISMACOLOR ITEMS I'VE BEEN EXPOSED TO THUS FAR!! HAPPY COLORING!!!!Read full review

Prismacolor pencils are probably the best wax cored pencils on the market. They lay down vibrant pigment and are extremely easy to blend, especially if you use a bit of solvent. I like that they are able to be replaced individually in most large chain crafting stores. I have asked for a larger set for my next birthday because I find myself using these on my projects every single day. No matter what other medium I am using or whatever other set of pencils I am using, I always reach for certain colors from my Prismacolors because the colors are true and they do not leave a heavy waxy buildup even with lots of layering. My only 2 negative comment is 1. I wish there were more browns.. I imagine the larger sets have more options. Like I said, I can buy individual colors at will, with Prismacolor pencils, so it works itself out. 2. Because these are softcore pencils the leads will break easily so I suggest having a mat under your work station because breaking them does happen. and a mat helps to cushion the blow more than you would think. I will purchase these again in the future with no hesitation. Read full review

I bought these as a gift for a friend who's into adult coloring books. She had complained about the quality of cheaper-quality colored pencils and how few of them had gold and silver included in their sets. I told her about how I'd used Prismacolor color pencils in the past and that she'd like the 48-count set. Long story short, I bought them for my friend and she loves them. She loves the quality so much that she'd informed me that she'd never again settle for cheap, inferior color pencils.

I order the set for my daughter who loves to draw with colored pencils. The quality is pretty good. You only have to be careful when sharpening them, it is easy to break the lead.

I love prismacolors premier colored pencils but their too expensive for my taste. Very grateful I was able to get these at great deal. The tin was a little dented (probably Usps to blame) but all the pencils were in tact. The colors are just enough to get started though I had to buy some gray tones separate.
