I purchased an HP laptop and a really nice gateway from an indivicual who had owned them, neither unit was working so for the two i paid $150, the gateway has a typical failing of a poorly designed power plug which broke its contact with the board. its largely toast, the hp was a reasonably fast one that had shelled out the hard drive. it took a weekend to get the old hard drive out and install a new operating system on it, but it now functions really well with the 60 gig fujitsu and is easily worth a couple hundred dollars by itself, the gateway may yet rise again, but its requiring major replacements... still has a good hard drive, ram, dvd , picture, keyboard, and wifi which in worst case will fetch 75 bucks parted out. or i can sell it for nearly that as parts, some people will replace the power plug for 65 and no charge if it cant be fixed... you always make your money on these when you buy them, so one fifty for the pair seems like a reasonably good price for the two. parts for these machines are generally cheaper on ebay with fast service and in- expensive shipping they can keep you in nice computers or make a decent gift inexpensively for a grandson or freind. the fujitsu simply plugged in and went back to work, got formatted three times to be sure nothing on the hard drive survived from the previous owner and after intalling a new opearting system and new drivers downloaded from hp and polished with driver detective it functions relly well again and will be capable of performing for at least three years, then go to the bone pile and get parted out. makes a great hobby activity. the cost of the fujitsu was very reasonable and if the gateway does rise from its design problem i have computers for a decades use, or sell the parts buy another one and do it again.Read full review
This is simple, the Fujitsu 60 gb is a commonly used drive that's reliable and easy to find on eBay at a reasonable price. This drive was what I needed to get a laptop sold. These drives are reliable enough that I don't worry about getting the computer back with hard drive issues.
I bought this for my Dell Latitude D610. It came with the attachment that was needed to hook into the hard drive slot which was very convenient since the second hand Latitude didn't come with it. Fujitsu is a brand you can trust even though they are no longer Made in Japan.
Boughtg it at a great price. Works great in the hp cf-51 that I installed it in. I would have liked to install a larger one, but for the price it was a deal.
