I bought a referbuished PC a HP 1090t with a i7 and 24 gigs.Win 7 Pro. 64 Bit.colocomputer. This drive was a replacement for the one in the computer I'm getting rid of. I want to keep my softwear downloads and so on.upon my old hard drive so I had to buy this old kind, to make my old PC work, not a SATA. Then I can put my old hard drive in a cheap old PC that has a faster CPU with around 3 gigs RAM that's about all XP 32 bit can see. Some thermal paste a heatsink some holes and fans and a square monitor. You see? Tilt. :-) Eph. 2: 8-10
I bought this product to replace a failing drive on my old PIII Computer. The drive needed to be an IDE controlled drive of at least 80 GB or more. Inexpensive, with the best return policy for a near DOA. So far set up as my 2nd drive (formatted ext3) the Seagate Barracuda has performed flawlessly. I have tried three different GNU/Linux distros: PCLinuxOS-LXDE 2012.01, LUNBUNTU 12.04 and WARY PUPPY 5.3 and was able to read data files between all three. (Files created in Puppy have to have permissions changed to be delete/modified by the non-root users of the other Linux OS's.)
My hard drive was dying and I need a quick replacement for short money. This drive fit the bill perfectly. It arrived in a timely manner and cloned perfectly. In addition is increased my storage capacity as it was bigger than my original. Great way to give my computer a few perks for short money
This is a great Drive for anyone who wants to upgrade their system,or just use for extra storage, very reliable!
after using a 40gb drive this thing appears unfillable!I am not able to tell much more about the harddrive other than it works it is quiet and I keep adding the programs and I still have lots of space for more
