I had one of these radios a few years ago, and sold it on Ebay because (1) the version I had was pink and I'm a guy and (2) because I thought I wanted the preset buttons more than the little dial. I have missed this radio for years, and decided to buy it again. The best part of this radio is the ability to record songs you hear that you like, then play them back. XM alone is a disappointment for me, because I like the Frank Sinatra channel, but too often they go off onto the long and disappointing road of all these non-era artists and songs. So when that happens, I can switch over to recorded music for a short while and then switch back. You can record the channel, or the song. And you can schedule to record a time frame as well, however I don't find myself using that feature. It is great you can use this as a portable XM player, though I don't use that feature either. With streaming on phones and all that, it isn't really so urgent that I use XM on a walk or whatever. The unit is small, and has the recording feature, and the sound is excellent, all the reasons why you'll like this unit. I know they came out with a newer model, then it went away, and I think that unit added WIFI and some larger storage. But I have 175 songs in memory, using the 50/50 partition, which is more than enough to get me by when I listen to recorded music. The 50/50 partition lets you use 50% of your memory for music you already own, and then 50% of XM recorded music. I don't have PC music but to set XM as the 100% partition, I'd have to wipe out all that I've recorded and I don't want to do that right now. You also have tune select and artist select, along with a favorites selection to have a few channels as favorites and easy to access using the thumb pad. You have a backlit screen and backlit touchpad thing, along with a color display. This radio does not work with the other XM car and home cradles, unfortunately, but you can find home kits that have been repurposed as car kits. The inno 1 has an FM radio tuner but only functions if in an Inno 1 car kit and was banned by the FCC on the Inno 2 models, which are the same except for the FM transmitter feature.Read full review
I liked that it was compatible with napster's mp3 files. I have the original inno that will not work with napster. What I do not like about it is that the accessories for it (Car Kit) are hard to find. The older car cradle is not usable for the FM feature. If you find the cd-ubcar2 in stock, it is at full price for the complete car kit when all I need is the cradle. I will probably work around the FM feature by using the cassette feature on my two older vehicles that have a tape feature in the car's radio. My 2005 subaru does not have a cassette in the radio.
Well, we live on Hilton Head Island. There's sometimes problems with radio reception here. This XM radio works well in my car, but not inside the house. Hubby loves to play with it/listen to it in my car. Great reception in the car, but hubby has not bothered to play with the home antenna which came with the unit so we can listen to it inside. Other than the hubby flaw, I probably would have given this item an excellent rating. Think if he'd bother to look into setting up the home antena option I'd be delighted...with both the radio and him. Barb
Great Pioneer product, portable satellite radio I listen to on my bicycle, in my car, and at home. Outstanding quality and features. Ability to record any song to the device, can't download it to any other device, but having the song recorded tells me the name of the musician and the song.

I like XM radio, the convenience. However you don't get such good reception inside. With the INNO I am able to record stuff at night and play it back the next day for listening at work. I actually have 2 so I can go back & forth & record during the day as well. It is great for long road trips, I never have to find a new station because it never goes out of range! My only true dislike with the INNO, it can record stuff. But there is no meter/gauge to show how much space you have used or what is available. I have recorded programs that have cut off in the middle because I have too much recorded at the moment. It would be nice to have that measurement somewhere. Otherwise, I would recommend both XM radio & the INNO as the product to use while listening! :)
