Overall, A good sound unit that works.
Set at the right Level to the Radio in use, the Cobra HG-M75 Does a great job putting some more Punch into the transmitted Audio when chasing those DX stations.

Do the mod
This mic is ok as is from the factory but.... If you do the mod that is on the internet you will increase the quality of sound and performance of this mic by no less than 60%. This is my opinion of coarse but I'm sure you will see a great improvement and for the money you will be able to compare to studio mic sound.

Poor low grade quality built inside. Will not setup to wire for relay switching. Low performance voice output is not consistent. Like using a dynamic microphone with the gain-control turned up to full. I tested this on four different radios; performance was the same poor.

Decent but weak power mic
Decent power mic if modified. But stock out of the box it does not have much "power" to the mic. PTT button also has too stiff of a spring, but again can be modified.

It is a good mic but better for people with larger hands than a short lady like me. I use it anyhow. I am told I can be heard better on my Uniden Bearcat 980 Cb. So it is not a bad buy at all. Works well.
