This game is awesome! Of coarse the Wii controls are much different than anything that you are used to if you haven't played on the Wii yet, but you do get used to it. There are a few bugs that I think should be worked out in the next version. It is very slow do align your defensive backfield, linebackers, and line, especially in online format where the opponent often snaps the ball before you can adjust your defense. Also, the passing controls are a bit slower, and touchier, but if you really get the hang of it you can put much better touch on the passes. Online play is awesome with one major exception. Cheaters! If a person disconnects while you are winning or losing you both get a loss. It's not fair to those of us with integrity. Hopefully they will just fix that soon since EA can just make an adjustment to that without waiting for a new game to come out. Other than those issues, gameplay is great. I don't mind the cartoonish look to the characters, the Wii isn't known for lifelike scenery anyway. The kicking is fun, (by swinging wiimote). The hit stick is now a swing of the wiimote, and the qb can dodge with a nunchuk swipe (a little too touch at times). One last thing, if you want to play franchise mode online, you can't do it on the Wii. As a matter of fact, if you want to play franchise mode at all you have to unlock it, codes can be downloaded by googling.Read full review
Madden 10 is a fun game in my opinion but if you like seeing how lifelike the players look DO NOT BUY THIS GAME!!! There are cheats for superstar and franchise modes. The graphics are good but the characters are big for linemen and thin for receivers. Controls are easy to learn and by that I mean learned the controls in less than a day. I also have madden 08 for gc (and I still play it) and I compared the speed of the game and madden 08 is faster and smoother but I like the updated rosters so I play madden 10 more often. I say buy madden 10 for wii used (and don't pay $10 more for a case) and save some money. But if you want to save a lot of money buy madden 08 for gc or even 06 (that was when superstar mode was introduced) if you don't care about updated rosters.
Madden NFL 10 (Wii, 2009) was purchased as gifts for my nephews. They can play alone at home or together at Grandma's house. Madden allows for different skill sets and great graphics to keep their attention. They even watch football on tv to look for tips. If one gets stuck, there are plenty of cheat codes to help them along. Madden NFL 10 didn't break the bank. The Madden NFL 11 games has more bells and whistles. My nephews are 12 and younger and they have no idea the difference between the two games. I am thrilled with my purchases and will look forward to more Madden opportunities.
This issue may be 4 years old, but it has captivated my grandson for hours on end; literally. Unless you are into knowing who all today's players are, this may as well be the current version of Madden. The game plays realistically even with appropriate crowd noise and penalty call monologues. He loves it.
I was disappointed after buying Madden 10 for the Wii. The game did not meet my expectations. I used to LOVE playing NFL Superstar mode, but now it is gone along with another great, Franchise mode. Instead those modes were replaced with Road to the Super Bowl, and Madden Showdown. Those two modes were not good enough to replace Franchise and Superstar modes in my mind. Additionally, the image of the players have become completely different. Now the players look like cartoon characters. Definately not enjoyable or anything I was expecting. Madden used to be a great game. Now it is not even fun to play. What happened Madden?
