Beam vacuum cleaner motor

Good Motor
My central vacuum is 22 years old and I believe the exact motor was discontinued, but this one fit perfectly on the mounts and into the intake/exhaust ports. Wiring was slightly different in location but still worked. It didn't have the foam O ring though. I had to take the old one off the motor with a razor knife. This O- ring is important so make sure you use one and DO NOT overtighten the mounting nuts. The O-ring is a foam cushion and has to absorb vibration. Definately reccomend. Powerful motor.
Almost 20 years ago I bought a shopvac with a ametek lamb motor, still have it, it survived apartment maintenance, restaurant maintenance and lots of clearing plugged drains. Saw a beam central vac system and took down the model number after cleaning the brushes. This is the same motor. Works great, they are all a lil noisy, so I might make a muffler. Very happy with my purchase. Delivered rapidly in prestine condition.

Don't try to test one loose on bench! Startup torque is sufficient to turn everything into a whirling dervish, wrapping power wires around motor. Specs say 100" water for vacuum and it probably will do that out of the box. I "Tim Taylored" one onto the top an ancient 3.5 "peak" HP Craftsman that was so old that there were no spare parts. Mounting ears are not symmetrical. Get a pdf drawing from Ametek-Lamb site for dimensions if you are not just replacing a whole house unit. Great results, so far.Verified purchase: YesCondition: New
