Great sound at a good price.
I was looking at this or a comparable model from Denon, when I saw a refurbished unit was available. The Onkyo has had good reviews and it didnt disappoint. I have a pair of Paradigm Titan v3 speakers (that I mused on an upgrade) and a Paradigm PDR10 subwoofer. They sounded fantastic with this new amp and I especially like the Phase Matching Bass Boost function that boosts bass and treble at low levels, since I dont listen at loud volume too often. Great budget amp for 6-8 ohm speakers
This is a great budget amplifier to power 6-8 ohm speakers. I tried it with my Elac Uni-Fi UB5s, but the results were not great. It sounds terrific with my Bowers & Wilkins 607s, though. It has a brasher (not brighter) sound than my NAD C 316BEEE, which has a warmer sound. There are few options for those looking for a good integrated amp on a budget, but this is a good choice. Sounds great running off a Pro-ject turntable - Pro-ject phono pre-amp and powering two Klipsch bookshelf speakers. Sound is warm and full, but not muddy.
