I am not convinced that these are actual apple products. The original one I received did not support inline controls or microphone, but did play sound. The 10 pin detached after about a week. The company was nice enough to send a replacement free of charge. I have not used the replacement yet.

The adapter works as intended without any issues. The reason to lower the rating from 5 to 4 is the fact that the wire is thin and the whole thing feels flimsy. I don’t thing it will last very long with daily use. For occasional use and considering low price, it’s fine.

I noted not well designed for one reason, I have a pair of Polk Audio and Shure headphones and they work well with the adapter but my Klipsch only play on one channel with that said I don't know if it is the headphones or the adapter, other than that this adapter works and the price is right.

Works great for everything you would plug into a headphone jack. Including earbuds with microphone for phone calls, and a Square credit card reader. I wish Apple hadn’t eliminated the headphone jack, but this adapter lets you do what you used to do again.
