Directed by the great stage and film director Patric Chereau, this is the Ring for the ages. It may not have Birgitte Nielsen or some other superdiva, but it has some excellent singer/actors who are able not only to convey Wagner's music, but also Chereau's vision of the Ring taking place in the middle of the Industrial Revolution. The music is conducted by Pierre Boulez, which is also a guaranatee of the highest quality.I waited for a long time since this PBS televised production was available on DVD. You must see it and own it.
Thankfully, most of the major characters are of European ancestry. However, Loge and Mime are Jews. One of the Valkyrie is a Negress. Notably, Gwynneth Jones does an excellent job portraying Bruennhilde. This DVD is as good as can be expected; given the overwhelming influence of Zionist Jews in the cultural sphere.

This version of Wagner's Ring Cycle is very good. The score, singing and stage designs are nicely done. It's a lot of fun to have it playing in the background while I'm getting work done in the house. Do I recommend this Ring performance? Yes.
