Can't recommend buying any movie in this series until they come out with a set but there are some great masterpieces. In a war ravaged, future America there are still secrets hidden from children to shelter them from the world. Yet again the Masters of Horror series makes a more of a political statement rather than a scarefest. There is a creepy undertone that questions the human soul & moral values. Would we really rather see the dead dance than rest in peace? Maybe the ending would make you change you mind about that question. You'll just have to watch to find out. Good cast & great backstory. 4/5
Masters of Horror - Dance of the Dead Dance of the Dead offers a great story with a really good cast, but in the end it just doesn't come together. I think this movie would've been better as a feature length film, giving us more time to learn about the characters instead of cramming everything together in 45 minutes of hell. The only real positives of this film are the performances of Jonathan Tucker (who is always good) and newcomer Jessica Lowndes. Lowndes offers a slice of beauty in an otherwise dismal movie. The ending is also pretty good, but sometimes it takes more than a good ending to make a movie. I did enjoy this film, it just wasn't what I expected. Final Verdict: 2/5 Rent or Buy?: I'd recommend renting this before buying it, or waiting until the entire series comes out in a box set. The ending is great, but the rest of the movie just doesn't come together. IF YOU FIND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE. Thank you.Read full review
IN THE NEAR FUTURE WHEN NUCLEAR WAR HAS TURNED MUCH OF OUR WORLD INTO WASTELAND, THE YOUTH OF AMERICA HAVE BECOME DRUG-CRAZED SOCIOPATHS WHO LAWLESSLY PROWL WHAT'S LEFT. BUT FOR PRETTY TEENAGE PEGGY(JESSICA LOWNDES) HER SHELTERED LIFE IS FAR REMOVED FROM UNDERGROUND CLUB THE DOOM ROOM WHERE A DEPRAVED MC (ROBERT ENGLUND) PROVIDES IMMORAL ENTERTAINMENT FOR THE MURDEROUS MASSES. TONIGHT, THE MOST HORRIFIC STAGE SHOW OF ALL IS ABOUT TO BEGIN...AND PEGGY'S YOUNG INNOCENCE WILL COME TO A BRUTAL END FOREVER.
If you are tired of typical zombie movies, then you're in luck! This film takes place after the war is over and society is trying to limp forward from the brink of destruction. The zombies here aren't drooling threats and instead are used as plot devices to move the story forward. All the actors are enjoyable, but Robert Englund shines the brightest as the sleazy owner of a dance club. There's not much gore but the little gore that is there is used to great effect. I have to say it's one of the best of the Masters of Horror collection and very worth the buy!
Do not like it it is not a good movie to me
