  • Trangia Alcohol Burner

I have had and used just about every type and brand of backpack stove. This stove is essentially bulletproof. It is perfectly simple, idiot proof, durable, fairly efficient and quiet. One of the reasons I go to the bush is to relax. If I want a cup of tea, I take this out, take the top off and light it. No fiddling with canisters, priming, or attaching anything. It is environmentally sound as well. It will last a lifetime, uses renewable fuel and has no canisters to throw in the trash. The fuel is more widely available than any other. Some people say it is not good in cold weather. I live in Alaska and I have never had a problem, in fact, alcohol stoves are what the mushers use on the Iditarod. So, if you are interested in not spending a lot of money, don't care about newest or most fancy and just want a stove to cook on, buy this. Highly recommend.

  • Good Choice!

I made an alcohol stove out of soda cans, and while fun and cheap both to make and use, you have to burn off all the fuel you put in. This stove is not expensive, the fuel is easy to find, and with the screw top lid I can save what fuel I don't need for the next use.

  • what i expected

it's what i expected. you still need to come up with a pot stand.either get a cross stand or get a pot stand. if your looking at this, you need a few weeks of you tube searching. to find the set up you really want to go. if you don't want the pot stand, your looking for a evernew stove instead. there is so much to take into account, this is hard to really explain everything. i did like it enough. i have a 2nd one ordered.

  • A great back-up for boiling water in camp!

As a full time Boondocker, I've used many different heat sources to boil my cooking water. This is a simple, dependable backup for days when my wood may be too damp for my gassifier stove, or my supply of LP for my camp stove is needing to be replaced. The flame definitely needs shielding from the breeze, but 12 oz. of water will usually come to a boil in under 12 minutes.

  • Trangia = fantastic, well designed alcohol stove!

Fantastic little stove! I have used homemade stoves in the past and this was of excellent quality and design! There was NO soot from this stove! The other stoves that I have used generated too much soot regardless of the fuel used. They (other stoves) were black with soot when used for supplemental heat. Therefore in a side by side comparison; the TRANGIA made in Sweden is tops in this survivalist/prepper's book!!! Recommended for a 72 hour survival kit. Virtually wind proof. I used Yellow bottle Heat from any automotive department or auto parts store. Best little stove in the opinion of this survivalist since 1969.

  • One of the best....

Can't go wrong with this Trangia burner. This is my 4th one in many years of using it for day camping and hiking. Extremely reliable and efficient. I've also given one to my son and son- in- law. Both use it frequently on their camping trips.

  • Great little stove

Product was as discribed. Easy to use burn time ratio to fuel consumption is very good. Max fuel load burned 28 min. Boiled 2 cups in under 5 min. That’s long enough to a skillet of eggs and bacon. Over all I would recommend this stove to anyone looking for a quality liquid burning stove.

  • Top quality and lightweight

A better design and function than the knockoffs. A great three-season (yes, you could use it in the winter) stove for me in the Cascade mountains.
