  • Great for home baker/cook

Fantastic scale. It has a large plate for big vessels and the display is easy to read, even with a large item on the weighing plate. Very easy to use, with a large display readout. I like that there's a cover over the buttons so you don't gunk it up while using it. It does take up space on the counter, but I don't mind because it's so useful. If your counter space is limited, it's probably not your best option, but it would be easy enough to put into a cabinet or drawer.

  • Yes, You Need This Scale!

The accuracy of a scale is enhanced by its ability to calibrated. This model is easy to calibrate and on point with its measurements. I used text books to meet the required weight needed for calibration. I love having volume, grams, ounces etc.. Baker’s math is not my favorite past time; so, this scale is my baking lifeline. The double a batteries last super long and the protective face plate is a keeper! This scale is a great deal!

  • Chicken approved

I purchased this scale to regularly weigh my laying hens eo that I can better monitor their health. With a few dried mealworms in hand, I coaxed the tamer one to step on to it herself. My bigger girl stands on it when I place her there. It's great!

  • We LOVE this scale

I am from Europe, and my wife is Brazilian. We weigh out so many things in our daily kitchen routine, everything from everyday baking recipes to dividing food for the freezer. This is my 4th kitchen scale, and we love this one. This scale is very fast to turn on and use, and it is very accurate. It is not small, but that is not an issue. We purchased the optional AC converter too, and it works great.

  • Best Kitchen Scale I have found

I reviewed many scales before purchasing this one. The numbers are easy to read and bright. The functions are easy to use and you can change from ounces to grams. Items on the scale do not get in the way of the display. Also this scale can handle weight up to 17 pounds, and so far the weight seems to be very accurate. This scale also has a Percentage function which I have not used yet but will soon. My wife has also started using it to get the weight of packages she mails as she sells items on EBay and needs to calculate postage. For the price every kitchen needs this scale.

  • I purchased this to use to weigh items for soap making. it's a bit limited in the weighing. It isn't very sen scale weighs in increments of 5 ounces.

I purchased this to use for soap making. Unfortunately, It doesn't have an option for the decimal point. For example- It will show 16. ounces, not 16.01 or 16.41 ounces. When measuring ingredients for soap, it requires that decimal of .1. I cannot find any information in the instructions that address this issue. It has percentages, which is a great feature, but for me, I really don't need it. It is a nice scale, but wished I had done more research prior to purchasing this one. Had I known this beforehand, I would not have purchased it. I now must find another one that actually weighs in decimals of .1.

  • Great Scale

Not exactly "compact." Which is actually why I bought it. The compact kitchen scales are often hard to read, once you put a bowl on top. I have used many scales for baking, and the compact, flat models with displays that face straight up are a pain. Sometimes I have to use a flashlight and peer in under a bowl to see the LCD. Those displays can be sort of gray when viewed at a steep angle. This KD8000 is taller, with the display angled forward, much easier to see. Also it uses AA batteries, much easier to find. My last scale used a 9V, expensive and not always available. I kept the AC adapter in a drawer for that one. I might skip the AC adapter for this scale. The flip-up shield is a new twist for me, but it is not hard to use. Maybe it will extend the life of the front controls. In any case, it is easily removed if I get tired of the thing. Baker's math feature, well, I'm a baker and I can almost guarantee that this will never be used. I work out my adjustments with a small calculator, and take notes on paper. No need for the scale to get involved in that. I simply print out any new recipe, and if I make adjustments, I record the date and amounts. Next time, I might change it again. In case you're wondering, I usually start with at least a 20% change. It is the smallest amount that I will be able to taste in the new batch. I can always tweak it back on the next try, if the recipe is good enough for a 3rd try. But in my experience, go directly to a 20% change if you want to be able to taste the difference.

  • I should have bought one sooner

I have bought numerous domestic scales in the past, all of them have been toys compared to this. It is quick, accurate and easy to clean. Professional grade which will probably be the last set of kitchen scales I have to buy.

  • Nice unit. Worth the money.

I really like the features. I like the flip cover over the digital panel, plus removable/washable plastic covers. It holds plenty of weight for heavy doughs + bowl, has a low profile and is lightweight. The one slight problem is that it needs suction cups on the feet like my food processor because the buttons are hard to push, which would be a good thing except that it slides during one handed operation.

  • Excellent Product

Kitchen Scale is great - just what I needed. Very light, easy to use and has made my candle process so MUCH better with the tare button and easy to read numbers.
